A jazz great meets "The King" as pianist Cyrus Chestnut celebrates the music of Elvis Presley! This special evening will also feature Chestnut's trademark sounds, influenced by Fats Waller and McCoy Tyner. Chestnut's prowess as a soloist has led him to be a first call pianist in big bands including the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and he tours as a leader with his trio, playing at jazz festivals, clubs and concert halls around the world.
KWMU host Dennis Owsley will present a pre-concert talk, "Jazz Piano Giants," at 7:10 pm.
